You might arrive alone. You won’t feel that way for long.

Most of our travelers book solo. By the end of day one — usually around the dinner table in the hut — that changes. The women you meet on this trail tend to stay in your life. Small group, shared miles, real friendships.

Where You’ll Sleep And What You’ll Eat.

Your Reykjavík base is Hotel Óðinsvé (or similar), right in the heart of the city, before heading south to the cozy countryside charm of Hotel Lóa (or similar) — the perfect spot for stargazing and northern lights hunting after dark.

We have single and twin room options. If you choose a twin room option we’ll match you with someone from our group.

Breakfast is on us every morning, along with a welcome dinner, a lunch stop along the way, and of course your festive three-course New Year’s Eve dinner in a warm, elegant setting to ring in the new year. Along the route, your guide handpicks cozy cafés and local restaurants for the meals in between.

What to wear during the winter in Iceland

Icelandic winter weather can be unpredictable, with cold temperatures, strong winds, rain and snow all possible in the same day. The key is to dress in layers, so you can easily adjust throughout the day. A warm base layer, insulating mid-layer and waterproof, windproof outer layer will keep you comfortable while sightseeing and exploring. Good waterproof footwear with grip is just as important, especially around waterfalls and other icy areas.

What to pack

Along with your winter clothing, pack a few essentials to keep you comfortable throughout your trip. Don’t forget your swimsuit for Iceland’s geothermal pools and lagoons, personal toiletries and medications, chargers, and a reusable water bottle. A scarf or neck warmer is also highly recommended for windy days. Pack smart, but leave a little extra room in your suitcase for Icelandic souvenirs!
