Our Story
Hi! I’m Saga Líf, the Owner and Founder of Viking Women Tours, the first woman-only tour excursion company based in Reykjavik, Iceland.
What began as a small trial of three tours in 2021 quickly grew into a sought-after experience for women from around the world. Founded by Saga Líf Friðriksdóttir, Viking Women was created to fill a gap she saw in Iceland’s travel industry—women-only tours led by women.
With guiding experience dating back to 2013 and a lifelong passion for hiking, travel, and nature, Saga is building a supportive community where women can explore Iceland, challenge themselves, and connect through meaningful shared experiences.
Today, Viking Women offers female-led adventures across Iceland, from classic road trips to challenging multi-day hikes, all designed to empower, inspire, and bring women together through travel.

Our guides have completed their education from renowned programs such as The Iceland Tourist Guide School, The Mountaineering School FAS, Wilderness First Aid Programs and The Icelandic School of Travel and Tourism.
These programs offer comprehensive training, ensuring our guides are equipped with extensive knowledge and expertise in guiding you around Iceland.
